Self-Similar - An exhibition of Torrell's work from 2009-2011, which pushes her engagement with architecture and space to a global level, tackling questions about China's built environment in the aftermath of the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake and Summer Olympic games, alongside her own personal upheavals. This exhibition is co-produced by the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre in Guelph, Canada and Saint Mary's University Art Gallery in Halifax, Canada. The artist gratefully acknowledges the support of both the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council for their tremendous support of this body of work.
